Clinical Approaches for Addressing Human Sexuality Issues With Couples is designed to help participants further their understanding and clinical abilities in working with both individuals and couples, with special emphasis on the role of intimacy in sexual relationships. Participants will learn a systematic approach for addressing sexual issues and will discuss ideas for adapting sex therapy techniques to be consistent with a systematic perspective.

Course Instructor

Jason J. Platt, PhD

Dr Platt is an Associate Professor and the Program Director of the Masters in Counseling Psychology program at Alliant International University. He is the founder of the CSPP Spanish Language and Cultural Immersion program and the Certificate in Latin American Family Therapy. In addition to the Mexico programs, Dr. Platt has facilitated immersion education programs in India, Cambodia and Vietnam. Dr. Platt has published referred journal articles and book chapters on the nature of competent clinical practice with an emphasis on international clinical competencies, Latino communities, impoverished populations and the need to adapt clinical practice to meet the mental health needs of underserved and international communities. As an educator he is passionate about exploring the effectiveness of alternative educational and training modalities, particularly on the use of critical pedagogy.
