Course Description

This three-semester unit graduate level course satisfies the Psychopharmacology requirement for LPCC and MFT licensure in California. This course is approved by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Psychopharmacology Survey is a comprehensive graduate level course, delivered in a self-paced online format. The course includes edited video lectures, organized as a logical progression through the material.

Psychopharmacology Survey is designed to help psychologists, family therapists, clinical social workers, substance abuse counselors and other mental health professionals develop a working knowledge of pharmacological agents and drug treatment strategies.

Dr. K GEORGE M. KAPALKA, PhD, MS, ABPP Distinguished Professor & Program Director, MS in Clinical Psychopharmacology

Dr. George M. Kapalka is a prescribing and clinical psychologist. He is board certified in clinical and psychopharmacological psychology (ABPP) and is a Fellow of APA Divisions 53 and 55. He is a board member at the American Board of Psychopharmacological Psychology and the American Academy of Clinical Psychology. He has served as president, board member and chair of ethics committee at state psychological organizations. He has been a psychologist for over 35 years and his work primarily focuses on the psychological, pharmacological and combined treatments of youth, as well as collaboration between medical and mental health professionals. His prior experience also includes school evaluations/consultations, child custody evaluations and parenting coordination. He is an author of six books and various publications and presentations. He is the Program Director of the MS in Clinical Psychopharmacology at Alliant University’s California School of Professional Psychology where he holds the rank of Distinguished Professor.
